ConCardis to offer clients acceptance of China Union Pay cards
Frankfurt/Main, November 25, 2009. ConCardis, one of the leading providers of cashless payment services, will be facilitating the settlement of China Union Pay cards for its clients by the end of the year, thereby also allowing merchants in Germany to tap into this fast-growing customer segment.
Scarcely another country is developing as rapidly as China. The Chinese economy has so far defied the financial crisis and is growing by more than five percent a year. The Chinese consider travelling abroad a status symbol, and when on holiday prefer to pay with the same card as they use at home, namely a card from China Union Pay (CUP).
CUP is the only credit card organisation in the People’s Republic of China and is therefore one of the most important payment cards in Asia. There are currently more than two billion cards on the market worldwide. The spectrum of cards issued by China Union Pay ranges from credit to debit cards. CUP’s global strategy is also very successful, with its cards enjoying popularity not only in China but also in Japan, Singapore, Korea, Russia and Turkey.
