Card security

Our technology and your alertness can prevent credit card fraud and payment defaults.

Please observe our security information so that you can protect yourself even better from forged or stolen credit cards.

Take advantage of our many years of experience in cashless payments and our high security standards.

If you can actually take hold of your customer's card yourself, then there are lots of possible ways you can check the authenticity of the card or determine whether the card really does belong to your customer.

The security features of the credit card organisations enable you to distinguish between forged and genuine credit cards quickly and easily.

Security advices American Express

EMV

With the introduction of the EMV security standards, more and more cards are being equipped with the forgery-proof chip besides the usual magnetic stripe. This technology considerably reduces card abuse.

If a credit card has a chip, the cardholder can prove his or her identity by signing a slip or entering a PIN number. The card-issuing bank decides how the cardholder has to prove his or her identity. This information is stored on the chip.

All ConCardis Terminals have a magnetic stripe reader as well as a chip card reader and process payments via electromagnetic compatibility (safety standard for non-cash payments). That is why the scanner always accesses the chip first. Only if the card is not a chip card will the magnetic stripe be accessed.

For your own protection, you should be very careful when dealing with orders with delivery addresses in certain countries and consider whether you should accept and carry out payment by credit card.

We currently regard the following countries as particularly critical when it comes to dispatching goods to them:
