Concardis and IT service provider Park&Pay are partnering up to offer a mobile payment solution for municipal car parks
Eschborn, 2 February 2017. Payment service provider Concardis and IT service provider Park&Pay are partnering up to offer a mobile payment solution for municipal car parks. While drivers are able to quickly and easily pay for their parking vouchers via app using their smartphone, the software also makes it easier for the municipalities to manage their car parks. The first pilot project is set to begin in Ludwigsburg in March of this year.
With the Park&Pay app, parking in public car parks becomes significantly easier for drivers: following one-time registration with the free app, they can pay for their parking vouchers on the go using their smartphone. The Park&Pay app works via SEPA direct debit – the parking fees are debited from the bank account of the drivers and forwarded to the participating municipalities.
‘Above all in regards to micropayments, cashless mobile payments will win out – we are certain of this. In particular once paying is associated with greater convenience, which offers both customers and merchants true added value. This is the case with the Park&Pay app,’ says Christoph Jung, Vice President E-Commerce at Concardis GmbH. ‘For drivers, the Park&Pay app is practical in many ways: pocket change is no longer necessary and the driver receives an automatic reminder before their paid parking time expires – and they can purchase more time if necessary. At no additional cost to the driver – neither for the app nor for the parking voucher.’
‘The solution from Park&Pay and Concardis offers municipalities the ability to manage their car parks in future with minimal effort,’ says Martin Zimmerman, spokesman of Park&Pay. ‘By using the software, they can make significant savings in terms of acquisition, operating and maintenance costs for pay-and-display parking machines. Specifically, for example, updates to parking prices take effect in real time through the use of Park&Pay.’
Park&Pay is a new and innovative IT company headquartered in Friedberg that focuses on digital services for municipalities. A core focus of the company is the digital management of car parks and the creation of a technical infrastructure to enable the settlement via SEPA direct debit of parking vouchers which were paid for using a mobile device – without any additional costs for participating drivers.
