Rainer Wilhelm to take responsibility for the IT division as of 1 December 2016

Eschborn, 6 October 2016. Concardis GmbH, one of Europe’s leading payment service providers, is strengthening its Information Technology division with the recruitment of Dr Rainer Wilhelm. As Chief Information Officer, the 48-year-old physicist will be responsible for strategic and operational IT management and help to drive digital change at Concardis. He will take up the new position on 1 December 2016 and, as a division head, will report directly to Marcus W. Mosen, CEO of Concardis.

‘Digital transformation is increasing the pace of change in the payments industry and, with it, the demands on our IT,’ said Mosen. ‘In order to remain competitive in payments, we have to seize the opportunities presented by digitisation and actively shape these changes. The aim is to develop our IT infrastructure and platforms and so to produce more innovations in IT that strengthen our business over the long term. In Rainer Wilhelm, we have attracted a highly experienced and competent IT specialist and software developer, who will also contribute his extensive knowledge of the financial services sector in order to address the current challenges in the payment industry.’

Wilhelm comes from Automation Consulting Group GmbH, where he was head of software development. He led projects in the areas of web applications, SAP, information security, and IT strategy for the clients of Automation Consulting Group GmbH. As managing director of ITSCare, an IT services provider in the healthcare market, he was previously responsible for building and testing the IT infrastructure for electronic healthcare cards. Before this, Wilhelm worked for more than ten years in the financial services sector – including as head of banking operations at Westdeutsche Immobilienbank and group manager for control systems at DZ Bank.
