Thomas Stagat, former head of business development and sales at Yapital, has joined the Concardis team in Eschborn and – in his role as head of key accounts – is responsible for the areas of retail and digital goods. Stagat (41) is considered a proven expert in the field of retail payment solutions in e-commerce and m-commerce.
After several stops at companies in the payment industry – including, among others, easycash, Deutsche Card Service and InterCard, where he was in charge of e-commerce – Stagat was hired by Yapital in 2014. As senior vice president, he expanded Yapital’s business in European cross-channel solutions. At Concardis, Stagat will advise and support both large and internationally active merchants as well as retail companies focused purely on Internet sales in the further development of their payment solutions.
Hiring Thomas Stagat is another move by payment service provider Concardis to continue expansion of its e-commerce and m-commerce expertise and thereby accommodate for the growing importance of payment solutions in these segments. In 2015, Concardis established an e-commerce competence centre in Cologne near the offices of its subsidiary cardtech and placed Christoph Jung, an experienced e-payment and m-payment specialist, at the helm. Jung’s tasks focus primarily on driving the expansion of PSP functionality. Now, with Stagat, Concardis is growing its advisory and sales expertise in the area of key accounts. ‘Retail payment processes are currently going through drastic changes. We want to accompany and support our customers on their journey into the future. That’s why we recruit leading experts and constantly expand our portfolio of services. Our objective is, first and foremost, to further increase customer benefit,’ says CEO Marcus W. Mosen about Concardis’ current expansion strategy.
