Frankfurt am Main, 29 November 2022. Following the merger of Nets and Nexi as well as all subsidiaries and affiliates to form Nexi Group, the group of companies introduces a new management structure on its way to becoming the leading European paytech by scale with natural local proximity: The local go-to-market approach will take the form of four European regions. The DACH region, Nordics, Central and Southeastern Europe and Italy will each be under the responsibility of a Chief Regional Officer. With this new setup, the national peculiarities in the payment and banking structure can be taken into account, the individual business units remain close to the employees and clients and can thus react agilely to dynamics. At the same time, client companies and the Nexi teams benefit from the innovative power and scale of the entire group. This will help succeed especially on Nexi’s ambitious growth path in Germany and the DACH region. The new management structure will be implemented across Europe at the beginning of next year.
High-growth DACH Region led by Carola Wahl
The experienced top manager Carola Wahl will be responsible for the the German business as well as of the overall DACH region Nexi Group from 1 January 2023. Wahl thus has, among other things, strategic responsibility for the payment service providers Concardis in Germany and Austria as well as for Nets in Switzerland. Carola has more than 25 years of experience in the transformation and leadership of international companies in regulated markets with high innovation pressure: For example, she spent a total of twelve years in management positions at Deutsche Telekom, including Senior Vice President for Indirect Sales and Services, and at AXA Switzerland, she led the cloud and data-driven transformation as Chief Transformation and Market Management Officer.
New leadership team with continuity
In addition to Carola, the Nexi Leadership Team for the DACH region includes the two long-standing Country General Managers Marianne Bregenzer for Switzerland and Damir Leko for Austria, who have successfully developed their business over the past years. The new leadership team has additionally been strengthened by Götz Möller, who joined Nexi Group at the end of November 2022 as Chief Financial Officer for the German business and the overall DACH region. Götz has more than 20 years of experience as a board member in the financial services and technology sector. In his last two professional positions, he was Chief Financial Officer of the payment service providers PPRO and Payone.
