Or by digital wallet rather than with a credit card? Would you like to offer tax-free shopping? Or are you looking for a solution that allows you to accept tips with card payments? Thanks to the additional features of our terminals and e-commerce solutions, your international guests and customers can do all these things while still paying conveniently – in their currency and with their preferred payment method. By the way, all of our terminals also make contactless payment a possibility. That makes paying with a card or smartphone even faster – and therefore even easier for you and your customers.
Contactless payments: less waiting, more sales
Contactless payment: that means, above all, faster processing. Hold the card close – done. This is especially practical for small purchases of up to €25. This means that your customer does not need to sign or enter their PIN – and, of course, your sale is still guaranteed. This enables you to reduce waiting times at the point of sale. Your customers and staff will be pleased. Despite the speed, payment by near-field communication (NFC) is still very secure and complies with the high security standards of PCI DSS. And not to worry: it is not possible for your customer to make a payment by accident when walking past the terminal. The card has to be held close to the front of the terminal.
Did you know that all of our current terminals already have a contactless payment function built in? It works not only with cards, but with smartphones as well if a digital wallet is set up.
With Apple Pay and other similar wallet solutions, your customers can pay easily with their smartphone or smartwatch – contactlessly via near-field communication (NFC). In order to do this, the customer sets up a credit card, such as VISA, Mastercard or American Express, in their wallet. Apple Pay is not yet available for customers in Germany, but all current Concardis terminals are already equipped with the contactless reader PayPass 3.0. This allows your customers from the United States or Great Britain, for example, to start paying with Apple Pay, and you will be perfectly equipped for when Apple makes its digital wallet available in Germany.
Pay just like at home
As a hotelier, transport company or online merchant, you often have customers from abroad. With Dynamic Currency Conversion (DCC), the automatic currency conversion feature, you enable your customers to pay in their home currency. At the press of a button, your customers can choose their preferred currency from the 30 available. This works with our terminals on-site the same way it does with our solutions for e-commerce. Neither you nor your customers have any additional effort.
Do you have customers on business trips or on holiday who purchase gifts in your shop for their children, or who would like great deals on specialities? If you can make their purchase tax-free on the spot, it is worth it for the both of you: your customer will enjoy the lower prices and simple payment, and you benefit from their good mood while shopping. With Tax Free, your customers can pay as usual with a card or even cash. Our terminals automatically recognise if the customer is entitled to make tax-free purchases and create a receipt after payment is processed. When they leave the country, your customer is then refunded the VAT they paid.
In the restaurant business, tips are both a common courtesy as well as an important part of a service worker’s wages. But service staff often leave empty-handed after card payments as very few guests make the effort of looking through their wallet for change once they have paid their actual bill. With the tip function for selected terminals, however, guests can easily pay their bill and leave a tip at the same time – both with their credit card, of course. The additional fields of ‘Tip’ and ‘Total’ are printed on the payment receipt, and the guest simply writes the tip amount and the new total amount directly on the receipt. Stick the card back into the card reader – done. Your service staff no longer need to get upset when guests wish to pay with a credit card, and your guests can conveniently reward the good service they received.
Someone booking a hotel room or reserving a hire car seldom wants to pay up front – after all, they won’t be using the service until later. But you, as a business person, would like some security. And that is no problem with our reservation function. The amount to be paid is simply reserved via the customer’s credit card. And that can be done on-site, over the telephone or online. This ensures that you are on the safe side and your customer does not need to pay in advance. Simply add the reservation function to your terminal or Concardis Payengine and start reserving.
